NW Jetty Jigs are hand poured lead weights made by my friend Dave in his garage workshop and so far are available in 1/2 oz and 1 oz weights. He had asked me to create a logo for his brand featuring a rockfish because they are synonymous with the enormous rocks and vast amounts of water surging in and out with the tides between the jetties of the Lower Columbia River and elsewhere along the coast.
The stylized rockfish, limited color palette and high contrast were a design choice. I chose an orange colored species because it would contrast strongly against the camouflage hats he hopes to have embroidered with the logo.
The original painting was around 8” X 10” and was given to Dave.
My payment, a lifetime supply of Jetty Jigs.
A stylized canary rockfish painted in acrylic above the Jetty Jig logo I created in Photoshop.
Finished jigs.
